LasQuirkus! The Lasqueti Circus!
Ladies and Gentlemen, children of all ages, Step Right Up!
LasQuirkus Extends Their Tour!
Old-Time Vaudeville Circus Rolls in to the Fallen Alders Hall on the Royston-to-Cumberland Road and to the Gabriola Island Community Hall!
Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, coming to you from the back woods, backwards world of Lasqueti Island is LasQuirkus, the Lasqueti Circus. Fresh from the wild success of tours that have hit the shores of communities in Cortes, Denman, Quadra and Errington, we're bringing it on through the Big Island and Gabriola Island!
We are a troupe of 35 circus performers, musicians and freaks who are rolling into into the Valley for one night only at the Fallen Alders Hall on the Royston-to-Cumberland Road on May 27th, at 7 pm.
The next night at the Gabriola Community Hall on Saturday, May 28th, at 7 pm.
Bring out the whole family for a Vaudeville Variety Show featuring Stilters, Clowns, Ballerinas, Jugglers, Musical Slapstick, Storytelling, Hula-hoop Spinning, Dancing Marionettes, Eastern European Superstars, Giant Puppets, and a Gorilla... or two? In addition to these home-grown acts from the LasQuirkus Circus Works we will also be featuring local acts, so keep an eye out for members of your own community who may be harbouring secret circus skills that will manifest on stage...
Guiding you through this night of marauding merriment will be the Infamous Red the Ringmaster, accompanied by the live soundtrack. Still need more? After the two-act vaudeville show, stay late and dance on into the evening with a live set of the pit band, the west coast, high energy, raw brass gypsy funk music from The Bolting Brassicas Marching Band! But wait, there's more! Cap it all off with the world beats of Lasqueti's dj beatfarmer.
Bring the kids, your juggling balls, dance shoes, and a sense of whimsy. And don't be late, because we pack the hall! Come one, Come all!
Doors 6:30, Show 7pm, Dance to follow.
Tickets available at the door on show night only! Cost 15$ per person. 30$ family rate.
Non alcoholic beverages and light snacks will be available for purchase.

LasQuirkus is an inclusive, do-it-yourself, not for profit, completely volunteer-based event aimed at having good, clean (yet wacky and wild) fun for everyone from toddlers to great-grandparents and everyone in between. Inspired by long-running The New Old Time Chautauqua, we're building our circus skills while inspiring, promoting and bringing together performers, communities and the arts around the Salish Sea.
